Hindu divine powers

About  80% of the Indian population are what is called Hindus. The term, Hinduism, is not compatible with names like Judaism/jews, Christianity and Islam/moslems. The latter focus their religious belief on one god, whereas the hindus are extremely versatile. Hindus may be polytheists, monotheists or a-theists. What we understand as Hindu-Gods and -Goddesses have no similarity with God/Allah or Jave in the west. I have no general word for the Hindus´ Gods or Goddesses.

In addition there are many more reliogious movements such as Sikhs, various ways of christianity, but also the very local beliefs the old races - such as adivasi - maintain. And we have many buddhists.

I concentrated mainly on Hindus and their culture. So the books I have and the art objects are mainly hinduistic. The following is a small copper sculpture of the female divine power Saraswati.

Saraswati with the peacock, a rosary,
the wise book, playing her veena.

Deepalakshmi in Kerala, ca 12 cm high, Bronce

Krishna and Radha, water colour painting
